Round stacking is a well-known method to stack firewood. It is easy to use and looks great. Create a base by spreading out three to four rows of treated 2x4s or pallets. Then, construct the pillars at the end on top of this base by laying down 3-4 pieces of wood next to each other, and then placing another piece on the opposite side with bigger gaps at each end. Continue to build the pillars until the stack is 12 rows high, making sure that there is plenty of space between each pillar so that air can flow easily throughout the entire pile.
Then use a center stake to hold the stack straight and start adding perpendicular pieces to the outside of the stack. Tie them together with string. Repeat this process until you have reached the height of your wall. You can then add in interior space with oddball pieces, and those that are too big for the outer rows. It is crucial to remember that indoor stacking requires a space that has plenty of natural light and good airflow. Overcrowding the stack could result in moldy and damp wood.
